Assessment Center - Group Exercises

The subject of my final thesis is the assessment centre as a method being used in practice of personnel psychology. The theoretical part is aimed at basic methods of assessment centre, it contains the definitions and instructions which limit and edit the assessment centre as regards its content and implementation aspects. It describes the processes of assessment centre creation and choice of its partial methods (dialogue, test methods, model situation etc). In more detail it deals with character of assessment centre partial methods and possibilities of their diagnostic outputs application. In particular chapter special attention is given to model situations and group exercises questions. At the same time it describes the assessment centre social-psychological aspects and its cultural and intercultural extent. The empirical part contains the description and analysis of particular existing assessment centre, from which a suggestion for its optimalization arises. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the evaluation assessment center method as a modern tender tool. At the theoretical level, materials are elaborated, which are the basis for verifying the importance of human resources evaluation of the organization. In the theoretical part, the specifics of the assessment center method are described and explained. In the practical part, a new form of assessment center is proposed for a particular job position. Here are applied theoretical knowledge. The output of the practical part is its evaluation by an expert.
Recruitment and selection of employees-players in team of NHL

This Bachelor's Thesis is focused on recruitment and selection of employees in very specific environment, which is NHL and its rules and regulations on recruiting and selection of players into the teams. The Thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. Theoretical part is about basic principles and knowledge of these HR activities (recruitment and selection) based on academic literature. The practical part is focused on recruitment and selection of employees-players to NHL teams. This part contains information about processes of headhunting of new employees-players and their selection. The goal of this Thesis is to describe those processes in this specific environment and evaluate them. At the end are added recommendations of possible improvements.

The thesis deals with the problem of group tasks in assessment centers. The theoretical part provides an overview to the basic characteristics of the method of assessment center, describes the process of designing and realization, and discusses in detail the issue of simulation exercises and group tasks. The empirical part focuses on relations among activity of participants during group tasks, their personal characteristics and experience with the method of assessment center. Admissions in the ICT sector

The thesis focuses on the issues of job interviews for ICT positions and related aspects of this matter. It includes the set of procedures that serve as an assistant for a graduate who will apply for a job in this field. The main objective of this thesis is to determine the process and requirements for admission for the positions in ICT companies in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part focuses on the individual components of the process that leads to employment. The curriculum vitae, cover letter, preparation for a job interview, the interview itself, assessment center and internet portals that are used for finding work or employees are also included. The practical part is mainly devoted to the questionnaire which I sent to companies in our country. Its evaluation is illustrated with graphs and tables. I consulted the results with human resources specialist, who gave me more detailed information on the individual issues. The thesis is concluded in chapter which summarizes the requirements for IT roles and positions. The benefit of this work is summarized overview that can help graduates to find some job. This is a set of requirements, which may be required for interviews in Czech companies.
Analysis of students' awareness of assessment centers

The aim of my work is to analyze students' awareness of assessment centers (AC). In the theoretical part, I explain the concept of AC and describe AC techniques. The practical part consists of two questionnaires. The first one was filled in by students of Czech universities and my goal was to determine whether they know what the term AC means and what the main tasks are. The second questionnaire was sent among JOSZEF program graduates who had participated in a two-day AC in Austria. In this case my intention was to get opinions on specific tasks that we performed, and the overall impression of the AC.
Consideration of validity of the use of assessment centers

The presented Bachelor's Thesis deals with the development and application of the concept of assessment centers (AC), particularly in the context of employee selection. In accordance with stipulated objectives, the Thesis attempts to: 1. map the current methods of implementation of ACs in business organizations, 2. verify the effectiveness of using AC as a method of selection of employees and 3. summarize the results of recent studies on the AC and thus contribute to their introduction into practice. The work applies the methods of critical literature research and review of published studies. The Thesis is based on an extensive review of current analytical and meta-analytical sources from both U.S. and Europe. In conclusion, recent findings are summarized, and recommendations for the practical use of AC are made.
Recruitment

Bachelor thesis is devided into two parts. The first part concerns the theoretical interpretation of recruitment. The selection process is divided into three rounds. In each round there are described various methods that can be used. In the practical part there is described recruitment conducted by the personnel company MEDITOR Ltd. The final part summarizes which methods of recruitment seems to be most effective and there are mentioned the reasons. Then there is a short assessment of the practical part.
Methods of selecting staff and their use

The thesis presents a theoretical knowledge of staffing, especially pay attention to methods of selection and use of them. Application of work sampling analysis of the company and assess the methods that are used in selecting employees in different occupations. Finally are these methods evaluated and recommended changes.
